Maryland Dept of Public Safety and Correctional Services Case Study

The Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions' Driver Training Facility evaluated the effect Energy Xtreme's Idle Reduction Alternative Power Source had on gasoline consumption during emergency vehicle operations training. A Ford CV Police Interceptor was outfitted with most of the standard type police equipment, including on-board video camera and emergency lighting, was also equipped with the Energy Xtreme Alternative Power Source. A second Ford CV Police Interceptor was outfitted with identical law enforcement equipment, but without Energy Xtreme's Alternative Power Source, was used during this evaluation for comparison.

2009 City of Austin Public Works Case Study

Background

From May 2009 to February 2011, Energy Xtreme partnered with the City of Austin to gather field data on the Independence Package Utility Series, “U4”, Energy Xtreme’s idle-reduction technology. The graph on page two of this study is specific to the months of September and October, and the data was gathered after installing the Utility Package on a 2008 Ford F350. Currently, the City of Austin has 3 U4’s in its Public Works Department.

2009 Dallas Police Department Case Study

Background

From March to June 2009, Energy Xtreme partnered with the Dallas Police Department (DPD) to gather field data on the Independence Package Law Enforcement Series, Energy Xtreme’s idle-reduction technology. The graph in this study is specific to the month of May; however, all of the other figures and data were gathered over the three-month testing period. The DPD currently has 850 patrol cars and a total of 1,700 vehicles in its fleet. The Police Series was installed on a 2007 Dodge Charger operating on regular duty within the fleet.
